In very long-term cases of Carpal Tunnel, you may experience a degeneration or wasting away of the muscle located under the thumb. This may or may not be permanent or reversible.

Other symptoms worth mentioning are tingling and or numbness in the thumb area. Also this Carpal Tunnel numbness may extend beyond the thumb to include the second and third digits of one or both hands.

Because of the seriousness of this disease, Carpal Tunnel symptoms can not be dismissed. The end result is that what could have been treated and even cured, is now permanent and life-long. If you experience any of the above-mentioned symptoms, get to your doctor as soon as possible. Time is truly of the essence in this case and could make the difference in your overall quality of life.

Together, you and your doctor can decide which Carpal Tunnel treatments are best-suited for your particular case.
